The public can complete an application for a State ID card on-line at http://stateid.ehawaii.gov and pay the $13 (age 65 or older) or $18 fee via credit card. If you select to be processed at the Main State ID Office on Oahu, go directly to the web application express line to verify your documents and capture your photograph, signature, and fingerprints. Your ID card will then be generated for you. Please bring your printed confirmation page showing the confirmation number and your required documents.
Due to the high demand for this service, all new applicants as of August 15 will be required to make an on-line appointment before completing their online process. All previous applicants that have applied on-line but who have not completed their in-person issuance can also utilize this new on-line feature by simply going to https://stateid.ehawaii.gov/stateid/reschedule.xhtml to schedule an appointment. The last name of the applicant and confirmation number are required to create an appointment. You can also reschedule your appointment using the same link.
You may select an Outreach location as your designated site to process your application. Applications must be submitted by 2pm the day before the Outreach date to be processed on that date. Everything above applies to an Outreach event, except that the cards will be mailed to you within 10 business days after the Outreach event. If you miss your designated Outreach location, your confirmation number is still valid at any other Outreach event or at our main office in Oahu.
You have one year from the date of your web application to process your State ID card at any of our outreach locations or at our main office. After one year, your application will be purged and no refund will be given.
Currently, Neighbor Island offices cannot process web applications. Lanai and Molokai residents can use the on-line service, and be processed when an outreach event is scheduled there. Cards will be mailed to you within 10 business days after the Outreach event.
