CAMPAIGN SPENDING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER, 2009 CLASS SCHEDULE
The Campaign Spending Commission announces the first round of classes for the 2010 elections for Candidate and Candidate Committees, Noncandidate Committees, Partial Public Financing for Candidates, and Hawaii County Council Comprehensive Public Funding. All classes are open to the public and there is no fee to attend.
Non-participating candidates in the Hawaii County Council Comprehensive Public Funding Program, as well as individuals making independent expenditures are subject to reporting requirements under Act 244 of the 2008 Legislature, in addition to other reports required in Hawaii Revised Statutes section 11-191 et seq.
The Candidate and Candidate Committee class will provide a general overview of campaign finance law including registration, reporting, contributions, and expenditures.
The Noncandidate Committee class includes information on who is a noncandidate committee, as well as a general overview of registration, reporting, contributions, and expenditures.
The Partial Public Financing for Candidates class includes information on who qualifies, how you qualify, expenditure limits, reporting requirements, and what you may use public funds for.
The Hawaii County Council Comprehensive Public Funding class includes information on who qualifies, how you qualify, reporting requirements, and what you may use public funds for.
The first three classes listed above may include a 2009 legislative update.
Certified Public Accountants may earn up to five (5) Professional Continuing Education credits on Kaua’i, Maui, and O’ahu, and up to six (6) credits in Hilo.

The Commission is registered with the Hawaii State Board of Accountancy as a sponsor of continuing professional education.
