Campaign Spending Commission Meeting
Leiopapa A Kamehameha Building, Room 204
July 14, 2005
10:00 a.m.

Members Present:
Paul Kuramoto, Steven Olbrich, Gino Gabrio, Michael Weaver

Staff Present:
Robert Watada, Grant Tanimoto, Ellen Kojima
Aaron Schulaner, Deputy Attorney General

Call to Order:
Meeting convened at 10:00 a.m. with Vice-Chair Kuramoto presiding.

Consideration of Minutes:
Mr. Gabrio moved to accept the minutes of June 14, 2005, Mr. Olbrich seconded.  Motion carried.

New Business:
Selection of Chairman and Vice-Chair
Mr. Olbrich moved to nominate Paul Kuramoto as Chair of the Commission, Mr. Gabrio seconded.  Motion carried.

Selection of a Vice-Chair deferred until the next meeting.

Because of time conflicts and that there were no pressing issues on the agenda commissioners asked that the remainder of the public session agenda be deferred until the next meeting, and asked that executive session be convened to discuss personnel matters.

Mr. Gabrio moved to convene executive session to discuss personnel matters, Mr. Olbrich seconded.  Motion carried.

Public session reconvened at 11:05 a.m.

Hired someone to audit a selection of candidate reports-
Audit being done so that candidates will be informed on the proper reporting methods
Discussion on criteria for selection of which candidates are selected for an audit

Input from commissioners and staff welcome

Next Meeting - Scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Weaver moved to adjourn meeting.  Mr. Gabrio seconded.  Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
