Campaign Spending Commission Meeting

October 10, 2007
10:00 a.m.

Members Present:
Paul Kuramoto, Steven Olbrich, Michael Weaver

Staff Present:
Barbara Wong, Tony Baldomero, Grant Tanimoto, Ellen Kojima

Call to Order:
Meeting convened at 10:03 a.m. with Chairperson Kuramoto presiding.

Chairperson Kuramoto asked that Agenda items # 3-Docket 06-08 and #4-Docket 07-03 be deferred until the November meeting when all Commission members should be present.

Mr. Weaver moved to defer Dockets 06-08 and 07-03 until the November meeting.  Motion seconded by Mr. Olbrich.  Motion carried

Consideration of Minutes:
Mr. Weaver moved to accept the minutes of September 12, 2007.  Motion seconded by Mr. Olbrich.  Motion carried. 

Communication to Commission:
Hawaii Administrative Rules
Requested that rules that had been submitted for the Governor’s approval to proceed with hearings be returned, and they have been returned.  Rules are being amended to reflect changes in the law.

Candidate Filing System
For purposes of auditing public funding applications, validations for contributions from residents, $100 or less contributions and contributions received after the filing of the Statement of Intent have been built into the system.

Next Meeting:
Scheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Olbrich requested that for the next meeting, staff present proposed legislation for the 2008 session for Commission members review.

Mr. Olbrich moved to adjourn meeting.  Motion seconded by Mr. Weaver.  Motion carried.
