Campaign Spending Commission Meeting

September 12, 2007

Members Present:
Paul Kuramoto, Steven Olbrich, Gino Gabrio, Dean Robb, Michael Weaver

Staff Present:
Barbara Wong, Tony Baldomero, Grant Tanimoto, Ellen Kojima

Call to Order:
Meeting convened at 10:05a.m. with Chairperson Kuramoto presiding.

Consideration of Minutes:
Mr. Olbrich moved to accept the minutes of August 8 and 30, 2007.  Motion seconded by Mr. Gabrio.  Motion carried.

New Business:
Modification of Advisory Opinion 05-01
Mr. Olbrich moved that the matter be deferred until the November meeting for further review.  Mr. Gabrio seconded.  Motion carried.

Draft Advisory Opinion 07-06
Draft advisory opinion advises that for purposes of contribution limits, a sole proprietor will be treated as an individual, rather than as a company.

Mr. Gabrio moved to approve draft Advisory Opinion 07-06.  Motion seconded by Mr. Olbrich.  Motion carried.

Communication to Commission:
CFS Administrator-User Guide and Guidebooks
The CFS user manual has been revised, guidebooks updated and we will be sending it out for printing.

Recodification
First meeting was convened.  Attendance was good.  Attendees received the first draft from staff and provided excellent comments.

Next Meeting:
Scheduled for Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Robb moved to adjourn meeting.  Motion seconded by Mr. Olbrich.  Motion carried.
