Kakuhihewa Building Receives Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Award

The Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) was honored as the "owner" of the Kakuhihewa Building (also known as the Kapolei State Building), which received the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Award for energy efficiency.

The DAGS-Project Management Branch established design requirements with the design contractors and monitored technical design documents and related construction work.  In presenting the award, U.S. EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson congratulated the Governor and DAGS and said, "you have been tremendous leaders in this effort by partnering with EPA to assess and improve the energy use in buildings."
