Proposed Hawaii Administrative Rules Changes

The Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission seeks your comments on the Commission’s  proposal to repeal Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 2, Chapters 14.1 and 14.2, and adopt Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 3, Chapters 160 and 161.  Please submit your comments in writing to the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission by mail to 235 S. Beretania Street, Room 300, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 or by facsimile to 586-0288.  Also, a public hearing will be held on April 19, 2010 at 235 S. Beretania Street, Room 204, Honolulu, Hawaii at 9:00 a.m.

The repeal of Title 2, Chapters 14.1 and 14.2, and adoption of Title 3, Chapters 160 and 161 is necessary to address the statutory transfer of the Campaign Spending Commission from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor (Title 2) to the Department of Accounting and General Services (Title 3).  Additionally, the proposed rules are necessary to address changes in the campaign finance laws, to provide examples, and to make housekeeping changes.

Chapter 3-160 Election Campaign Contributions and Expenditures (currently 2-14.1)

Chapter 3-161 Administrative Practice and Procedure Before the Campaign Spending Commission (currently 2-14.2)
