Process_Description:
This data set was clipped to the Waianae moku using ESRI ArcGIS from the state coverage entitled DFIRM that contains FEMA flood data on the eight main Hawaiian Islands.
The original data was scanned and compiled by FEMA from 1:24,000 Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps and received from the Pacific Disaster Center in 1996. The data set was then dissolved by ZONE item in ARC by the Hawaii Office of Planning in 2003.
An area inundated by 0.2% annual chance flooding; an area inundated by 1% annual chance flooding with average depths of less than 1 foot or with drainage areas less than 1 square mile; or an area protected by levees from 1% annual chance flooding.
