The original data was digitized in the early 1990's into ESRI ArcInfo format by the Hawaii Office of Planning using ArcEdit from island-wide mylar maps (obtained from the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources) of varying scales and sizes. Scales varied by island, and were as follows: Kauai 1-1/4" = 2 mi. ( ~ 1:101,376) Oahu 1" = 2 mi. ( ~ 1:126,720) Molokai 1" = 2 mi. ( ~ 1:126,720) Lanai 1" = 2 mi. ( ~ 1:126,720) Hawaii 3" = 16 mi. ( ~ 1:337,920)
