Abstract:

This dataset contains Marine Managed Areas under the jurisdiction of the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources located in marine waters in the vicinity of the Waianae moku (traditional district) on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. It was clipped from a larger data set that included Marine Managed Areas within the vicinity of the eight main Hawaiian Islands.

Purpose:

The purpose of this data set is to show the Marine Managed Areas under the jurisdiction of the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources within the vicinity of the Waiane moku on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. It is part of a larger effort to provide the Waianae community, located on the western side of Oahu, ecological and cultural spatial data to assist in their land and resource management efforts.
