Abstract:

This dataset shows the location of parks in the Waianae moku (traditional district) on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. It was clipped from a larger dataset that shows parks for the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai, Maui, and Oahu.

Purpose:

The purpose of this data set is to show parks within the Waianae moku on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. It is part of a larger effort to provide the Waianae community, located on the western side of Oahu, ecological and cultural spatial data to assist in their land and resource management efforts.

This data set was clipped using ESRI ArcGIS to show only the parks within the Waianae moku. It was clipped from the state coverage entitled Parksplys that shows parks for the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai, Maui, and Oahu.

The original coverage was created as follows: Derived from C&C parcel data (Oahu), and GDSI parcel data (Kauai and Maui), 1998. Created point coverages from polygon coverages for redistribution, October 1999.
