How do I find a list of the top businesses in Hawaii?

Document Actions

The August issue of Hawaii Business magazine is an annual survey of the top 250 companies in Hawaii.

Businesses are ranked by value of sales. Additional information includes a brief description of the company, the chief executives, the number of employees, the year founded and the parent company and subsidiaries.

Other useful features in this issue are lists of the largest subsidiaries, foreign-based companies, rankings of businesses on the Neighbor Islands and by industry sector.

Another source of business rankings is the Book of Lists. The lists originally started as a feature in the weekly issue of Pacific Business News. The weekly feature is ongoing while the Book of Lists is annual.

The advantage of these lists is that they provide rankings for a specific industry, profession or type of project. So if you are looking for the top law or architecture firms, the top advertising agencies or the top contractors in the state, this is a useful publication. There is also a list of businesses ranked by number of employees included in this publication.
