Forecasts--2nd Quarter 2012 (released on May 9, 2012)
Visitor arrivals are expected to increase 6.5 percent in 2012, 2.1 percentage points higher than the previous forecast of 4.4 percent. The forecast for visitor days in 2012 is now expected to increase 6.2 percent, 1.8 percentage point higher than the previous forecast. The forecast for visitor expenditure in 2012 is revised upward to 9.0 percent, from 6.4 percent growth projected in the previous forecast. For 2013, the growth rates of visitor arrivals, visitor days, and visitor expenditures are now expected to be 2.2 percent, 2.1 percent, and 3.5 percent, respectively.
