Purpose:
BioJapan 2005 presented a tremendous opportunity to market critical mass of Hawaii’s biotechnology and life science assets as an exhibitor of the U.S.A. Pavilion.
Twenty individuals represented Hawaii at BioJapan 2005.
With the development of the new University of Hawaii Medical School campus in Kakaako, Hawaii has a unique opportunity to communicate a compelling story about this new developing industry in the state to potential investors and academic/research institutions from Japan.
In conjunction with BioJapan, a Hawaii Life Sciences Symposium was held at the Yokohama Royal Park Hotel. The symposium generated an audience of over 90 people from a diverse cross section representing industry and academia. The content of the symposium focused on why Hawaii is an excellent partner for life sciences research and business.
BioJapan 2005 ended successfully with approximately 50 companies and governmental bodies from 17 countries/regions attracting more than 20,000 visitors.
