Business Mission to Taipei,

April 20 – 30, 2006

 A multi-pronged approach to marketing several Hawaii industries, the Taipei mission included the Hawaii Experience in Taipei, business meetings and seminars.

The Hawaii Experience in Taipei’s three venues included:  

  • Jason’s Market Place which featured a month-long Hawaii product promotion; 
  • “Gourmet Taipei” trade show, highlighting Hawaii cuisine, food, lifestyle, travel & tourism, and health and wellness products, and
  • The Grand Hyatt Hotel promoted Hawaii Regional Cuisine.

Hawaii’s Deep Ocean Water technology and Immigrant Investor Programs were highlighted in two separate seminars at the Taipei World Trade Center

 Highlights:

  • Gourmet Taipei -highlighted Hawaii chef cooking demonstrations, Hawaii entertainers on the main stage, and a Hawaii Pavilion showcasing Hawaii food and beverage products, educational opportunities, Hawaii tourism promotions.
  • Hawaii products at Jason’s Market Place, promoted simultaneously with Gourmet Taipei; consumers driven to Hawaii products at both locations utilizing a cross-promotional strategy.
  • 8 meetings were arranged for the Immigrant investor project promoters and also made individual additional meeting arrangements.
  • Deep Ocean Water seminar participants had several pre-scheduled meetings, and also made additional meeting arrangements individually.
  • Hawaii Regional Cuisine ran smoothly on its own, handled by the Grand Hyatt Taipei and KCC.
  • Volcano Pub placed a significant order for Kona Brew.
