Business Action Center

Document Actions

The Business Action Center is a branch of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' Business Registration Division. In line with the Business Registration Division's mission to process and maintain the business registry for the State of Hawaii, the BAC provides assistance with obtaining and completing the required applications to register a business entity conducting business activities in the State.

In addition, we help business owners obtain general excise tax and other tax licenses from the Department of Taxation and register as an employer with the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. We can also point the way to information on other permits and licenses for state, county, and federal government agencies, as well as counseling and workshops offered by other business resource programs, government procurement and other useful information.

Small Business Administration Resource Day
Every Monday (excluding state holidays) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a representative from the federal Small Business Administration is available at the BAC to counsel you on the federal Community Express Loan and government procurement programs.  If you are interested, call us to schedule an appointment and find out more.

Business Law Attorneys Volunteer at the BAC
Every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a volunteer attorney from the Hawaii State Bar Association’s Business Law Section will be at our Nimitz office to answer business-related questions and offer general information. Due to the popularity of this program, please call us at 586-2545 to schedule an appointment.

We are now in Hilo every Thursday! To find out more click here.
