Helping HandOn this page, DCCA provides help if you having problems opening our documents, and help on searching the DCCA web site using the search box. The search box is very powerful tool, that allows for you to search the DCCA web site by words, returning documents that match your search criteria. For issues related to viewing the site, please see our list of Supported Browsers. Have a problem opening a document?
If you can not open a document directly, use the option to "Save" the file to your PC and then open it from there. If this works, you may need to clear your temporary Internet files. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options and under Temporary Internet Files use the "delete files" option. Deleting Temporary Internet Files can be permanently set in the "Advanced" tab of Internet Explorer's Internet Options. The setting is "Empty the Temporary Internet File folder" under the "Security" section. Known issue with some PDFs in Google Chrome web browser or Safari (Mac)If you receive the error below when opening a PDF: To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. try saving the PDF to your computer by right-clicking the PDF link and selecting Save link as... and select a destination folder to save the PDF. Then open the PDF from this folder. In Mac OSX, you must open some PDFs using Adobe Reader, not in Preview (the built-in PDF viewer). Even after installing Adobe Reader, the Preview app remains the default application for PDF files. Preview cannot properly open PDF portfolios. To open from within Adobe Reader: right-click (or hold Control and click) the PDF and select Open With > Adobe Reader.
Search BoxThe search box is a very powerful tool, but needs to be understood and used correctly to get good results. The search box uses a catalog of all the pages in the DCCA web site. This catalog is updated nightly with all the web pages and the documents in the web pages. The search box will read this catalog and return a list of links for all pages and documents that match your search criteria. The software used to create the list and perform the search is from Google and behaves the same as the Google search engine except that it is limited to the DCCA web pages. The web page returned with the search results contains a "Search tips" and "Advanced search" that can be used to better understand and use the search box.
