  • Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

The FDIC regulates and supervises state-chartered banks that are not members of the Federal Reserve System ("non-member banks") and some savings associations, including Hawaii-chartered non-member banks and Hawaii-licensed depository financial services loan companies. Also, the FDIC insures deposits at all national banks and Hawaii-chartered banks, federally-chartered and Hawaii-chartered savings and loan associations, and all Hawaii-chartered depository financial services loan companies.

  • Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC)

This inter-agency body prescribes uniform principles, standards and report forms for federal examination of financial institutions by the FRB, FDIC, NCUA, OCC and OTS.

  • Federal Reserve Board of Governors (FRB)

The FRB supervises and regulates those Hawaii-chartered banks that have elected to be members of the Federal Reserve System. The FRB also supervises all bank holding companies, all foreign banks operating in the United States, and the foreign banking business of U.S. banks (state and national).
