Hawaii Foster Parent Association (HFPA) Since 1971, HFPA has made a difference in the lives of thousands of children in Hawaii by educating, supporting and nurturing foster and adoptive parents and legal guardians, empowering them to provide quality care to children in Hawaii affected by foster care. HFPA provides many valuable services: quarterly newsletter, annual statewide conference, advocacy, information services, referral services, workshops and trainings including Child Specific Foster Parent Training. PATCH PATCH offers a variety of free and low-cost services to educate parents, child care professionals and kith and kin providers, from all types of child care settings. All classes are aligned with standards of the state's ASK Core Areas and the Subject Areas of the National Child Development Associate Credential. The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) NFPA is the only national organization which strives to support foster parents, and remains a consistently strong voice on behalf of all children. NFPA will promote mandatory parenting skills training for all foster parents in the United States; will promote training for and implementation of the team approach in foster care; will promote a model recruitment plan for effective recruitment, development and retention of skilled foster family homes; will promote a legal standing for foster parents.

North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) Founded in 1974 by adoptive parents, the North American Council on Adoptable Children is committed to meeting the needs of waiting children and the families who adopt them. Through education, parent support, research, and advocacy in the U.S. and Canada, NACAC helps to reform systems, alter viewpoints, and change lives. Since 1994, NACAC has operated the National Adoption Subsidy Resource Center (formerly called NAATRIN) to educate parents and professionals on Title IV-E Adoption Assistance in the United States. Spaulding for Children/The Spaulding Institute Spaulding for Children finds permanent homes for children that have been in the foster care and adoption system the longest. It was one of the first agencies in the country that specialized in finding and training adoptive families for the placement of special needs children. The Spaulding Institute for Family and Community Development works collaboratively to develop resource material and community based services that support individuals, families, corporations, agencies and communities in strengthening children and families.
