How To Qualify

You are eligible to enroll in this program if:

  • You are a resident of Hawaii because you live anywhere in the State of Hawaii;

  • You do not have ALL of your drugs paid for by insurance;

  • Your household's income (before deductions-not take home pay) within the last 12 months did not exceed 350% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) for the State of Hawaii, according to family size.  Please call 692-7999 on Oahu, or 1-866-878-9769 on Neighbor Islands, for the income limits.  Income can be wages, self-employment income, Social Security benefits, supplemental insurance benefits (SSI), pension/retirement income, veteran's benefits, temporary disability insurance (TDI), workers compensation, unemployment insurance benefits (UIB), insurance settlements, school grants*, loans*, and scholarships*, child support, alimony, child's income, etc.

    *Loans: Bonafide loans from any source including but not limited to educational loans, are exempt. 

    Student grants and scholarships: Some student grants and scholarships are countable income.
