  • Comments Sought On Environmental Assessment For Mana Plain Forest Reserve Wetland Restoration
    The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) is seeking public comment on a draft wetland restoration plan/environmental assessment (EA) for the Mana Plain Forest Reserve on Kaua‘i. Comments will be accepted until Feb 3, 2012.

    This is a 2-page/three fold brochure describing the proposed Mana Plain Wetland Restoration Plan. The user should download the pdf, print on both sides and fold in thirds.
  • Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve Management Plan
    The Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve Management Plan is now available for review and comment. This plan outlines management actions over the next fifteen years to protect, maintain, and enhance the Reserve’s unique natural resources. Proposed actions include fencing, feral ungulate removal, weed control, habitat restoration, outplanting rare plants, monitoring, public access, outreach and education, fire management, enhanced enforcement and continued collaboration with partners. Please refer to the link above to view the DEA and information on providing comments. Comments will be accepted until February 7, 2012.
  • KURE ATOLL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 2/12 - 8/12
    The State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife is seeking three to four volunteers for the summer field season on Kure Atoll (mid-February - September 2012). Kure Atoll is an extremely remote work location as it is the last atoll in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands. Volunteers are expected to work 40 hours/week.
