Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve Management Plan
The Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve Management Plan is now available for review and comment. This plan outlines management actions over the next fifteen years to protect, maintain, and enhance the Reserve’s unique natural resources. Proposed actions include fencing, feral ungulate removal, weed control, habitat restoration, outplanting rare plants, monitoring, public access, outreach and education, fire management, enhanced enforcement and continued collaboration with partners.
