Lana'ihale Project

— filed under:

Lana'ihale is the island's only watershed forest providing a source of life-water.  As more native Forest is lost to non-native species, so, too, are the benefits of the forest lost; less fog drip is retained for the island's aquifer, and biodiversity and habitat for native species decline.  The beauty of the forest and its life-giving waters must be restored.

The mission of the Lana'ihale Project is to restore the Lana'ihale watershed ecosystem for the benefit of the Lana'i community and the native and endangered species of the forest.
