COL Iaea's Bio
COLONEL ARNOLD K. IAEA
Colonel Arnold K. Iaea is the Commander, 298th Multi-Function Training Regiment at Bellows Air Force Station in Waimanalo, Hawaii. He assumed Command on 2 May 2010. Prior to this assignment, Colonel Iaea served as the J1, Joint Service Support Division of the Hawaii National Guard, overseeing the State Family Programs, Yellow Ribbon Reintegration, Joint Service Family Assistance Program, Joint Venture Education Forum, Military Funeral Honors, Transition Assistance, Military One Source, Child Youth Services, Operation Military Kids and other Family, Warrior and Community support services.
Colonel Iaea enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard as an Infantryman assigned to the 1st Battalion, 299th Infantry on Maui. He earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant from the Hawaii Military Academy on July 28, 1990. Colonel Iaea has held a variety of command and staff positions within the Hawaii Army National Guard. He was activated for federal service on May 25, 2006 and served with the 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment as an embedded trainer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Prior to joining the Hawaii Army National Guard, Colonel Iaea served with the U.S. Air Force on active duty as a Security Specialist and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as an Air Cargo Specialist.
