Inter-State Transfer Information

HAWAII INTERSTATE TRANSFER

Aloha! My name is SFC Earl J. Ventura and I am the State of Hawaii IST Coordinator for the Hawaii Army National Guard.  If you have any questions or concerns about coming to or leaving Hawaii please feel free to contact me.  Before you decide to transfer to or from Hawaii here are some thing’s for you to keep in mind:

1.      Have you completed an IST worksheet with you unit?

2.      Periodical Health Assessment needed within 1 year

3.      Meet Height and Weight Standards of AR 600-9. (Wavier Applicable)

4.      Have at least four months or more until current ETS date

5.      You do not have nine or more unexcused absences within the preceding 12 months

6.      A current APFT with PASSING SCORE of GO within one year.

7.      Cannot be enrolled or pending enrollment in the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP)

8.      Cleared your unit supply of all equipment issued to you. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

9.      Cannot be on any type of military orders at time of contracting and all Leave must be exhausted prior to IST Contracting.

10.     YOU MUST NOTIFY YOUR UNIT OF YOUR INTENTIONS.

An IST worksheet needs to be completed at your unit and sent to your state IST coordinator.  There will be NO IST actions to Hawaii without an IST worksheet received from your State IST Coordinator.  I do not accept any documents or information from a Soldier without an IST worksheet.  Any uncoordinated IST to and from Hawaii will be placed on hold or put to the bottom of the list and processed in the manner it was received.

NOTE:  An IST is a VOLUNTARY ACT of the Soldier and in no way will the Hawaii Army National Guard will be held liable for YOUR DECISION to transfer to Hawaii.  Please do not expect to be placed on any type of Active Duty military orders upon contracting or arrival to Hawaii, as like others, you must apply for any fulltime resources we may have at that current time or have already coordinated employment prior to IST completion.

Any Bonus incentive issues must be clarified or completed prior to IST actions.  All questions regarding to all your incentives should be taken up with your unit and your State Education/Incentive Offices NOT HAWAII.  Please read your ENLISTMENT/REENLISTMENT CONTRACT for important information regarding your incentives prior to departure of your state.
