HAWAII AIR NATIONAL GUARD STANDS UP NEW UNITS

HAWAII AIR NATIONAL GUARD STANDS UP NEW UNITS

 

WHEN: Sunday, November 2, 2:00 p.m.

 

WHAT: Activation ceremony for the 109th Air Operations Group, 150th Air Operations Squadron and 202nd Air Mobility Operations Squadron

 

WHO: Members of PACAF, 13th Air Force, 613th Air and Space Operations Center and Hawaii Air National Guard

 

WHERE: PACAF HQ Building, Courtyard of Heroes, Hickam Air Force Base


Hickam AFB, HI- Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG) commander, Maj. Gen. Darryll D.M. Wong, will preside over an activation ceremony for the109th Air Operations Group, 150th Air Operations Squadron and 202nd Air Mobility Operations Squadron at Hickam Air Force Base on Sunday, November 2, 2008.  These units will be classic associate units of the HIANG, augmenting the 13th Air Force, the 613th Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) and the 613th AOC’s Air Mobility Division through the full range of combat operations.  The units will be co-located with the 613th AOC at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.   The mission of the 613th AOC is to provide command and control of real-world air, space and information operations in the Pacific Theater for the Commander of Air Force forces (COMAFFOR) and coalition or joint forces air component commander (C/JFACC).     In the event that operations exceed the 613th AOC’s capabilities, the traditional (drill-status) HIANG Airmen will be immediately available to supplement the active duty Air Force requirements.  The 109th AOG will be staffed by approximately 130 HIANG Airmen and will include pilots, navigators, weapons controllers, flight nurses and intelligence specialists.   The 150th AOS will have approximately 70 Airmen, which will include intelligence, network, strategy and airspace branches.  The 202nd AMOS will have approximately 50 Airmen split between tanker, airlift, logistics and aeromedical branches.
