Congresswoman Mazie Hirono introduced a piece of legislation called the K-9 Companion Corps Act.

As a member of the community interested in U.S. military and veterans issues, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono wants to make sure that you are aware of a piece of legislation she introduced this past week. It’s called the K-9 Companion Corps Act. If passed, the measure would establish a grant program that encourages the teaming-up of service dogs with members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Hawaii has made and continues to make strong contributions to our country through the military involvement of its people. The state of affairs of our nation's veterans, especially those in the islands, are never far from Congresswoman Hirono's thoughts.
