The Economy Lot was introduced on November 1, 2007, to alleviate the congested parking situation at Honolulu International Airport.
“Airport parking demand is not as pressing of an issue as it was in the past couple of years and after reassessing the situation, this is an opportunity to reduce our operational costs,” said Airports Deputy Director Brian Sekiguchi. “We will continue to monitor the overall parking situation at the airport and when necessary, will offer alternatives for parking when we anticipate heavy resident travel.”
Construction of the new 1,800 stall parking structure is 80 percent complete and on schedule, and should be available for use just prior to the Christmas/New Years Holidays.
