Project Overview

The project will widen Fort Weaver Road from four lanes to six between Aawa Drive and Geiger Road.  
 

Construction work began on October 1, 2007 and is anticipated to be complete in Fall 2009. Total costs for the project is $59.85 million, 80% of which will paid for with federal funds and 20% by state funds.

Phase I of the project was completed in August 2006 and widened Fort Weaver Road from four lanes to six from Farrington Highway to Aawa Drive.

Old Fort Weaver Road: Opened April 3, 2009

Renton Road: July 31, 2009

Kolowaka Drive: August 18, 2009

Geiger Road: August 21, 2009
