Oahu Lane Closures

For the week of Saturday, February 6, to Friday, February 12.

All projects are weather-permitting.

 

--- H-1 FREEWAY ---

 

1)  WESTBOUND NEAR KAONOHI STREET OVERPASS (NIGHT WORK)
Four westbound lanes will be closed near the Kaonohi Street Overpass in Pearlridge on Monday night, February 8, through Friday morning, February 12, from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., nightly, for freeway traffic sensor replacements.

 

2)  SCHOOL STREET ON-RAMP
Full closures of the westbound H-1 Freeway School Street On-Ramp are scheduled Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., daily, for retaining wall repairs. One lane on School Street will also be closed on Thursday, February 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  During ramp closure hours, westbound motorists wishing to access the H-1 Freeway are advised to use alternate on-ramps at Punchbowl Street or Vineyard Boulevard.

 

3)  WESTBOUND NEAR LILIHA STREET (NIGHT WORK)
Two left lanes will be closed in the westbound direction from the School Street Off-Ramp (Exit 21A) to the Liliha Street Overpass on Wednesday night, February 10, through Thursday morning, from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., for electronic messageboard repairs.

 

4)  KAPOLEI TO PEARL CITY
Short duration right and left lane closures in the eastbound direction from the Palailai Interchange in Kapolei to the Waiawa Road Overpass in Pearl City on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for traffic camera sensor maintenance.

 

5)  SAND ISLAND TO KAPOLEI
Short duration right and left lane closures in the westbound direction from the Nimitz Highway On-Ramp near Sand Island Access Road to the Palailai Interchange in Kapolei on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for traffic camera sensor maintenance.

 

6)  HICKAM AFB TO DILLINGHAM BOULEVARD
Left lane closure on the Airport Viaduct in the eastbound direction from the Nimitz Highway/Pearl Harbor/Hickam AFB Off-Ramp (Exit 15) to the Middle Street/Dillingham Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 18B) on Wednesday, February 10, through Friday, February 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., daily, for bridge inspections.

 

7)  MAKAKILO/KAPOLEI RAMP CLOSURE (CONTINUOUS)
24-hour, seven-day-a-week closure of the eastbound H-1 Freeway Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa off-ramp (Exit 1B) continues through the end of 2010 when work on Phase I of the new Kapolei Interchange Complex nears completion.  During the closure, motorists wishing to access the Kapolei area will be directed to use the previous Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor off-ramp (Exit 1A) and approach via Kapolei Parkway/Kamokila Boulevard.

 

--- H-2 FREEWAY ---

 

1)  WAIPAHU TO WAHIAWA       
Short duration right and left lane closures in both directions from the H-1 Freeway to the Wahiawa Off-Ramp (Exit 8) on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for traffic camera sensor maintenance.

 

--- H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY --- 

 

1)  NORTH FRONTAGE ROAD   
Single lane closures on the North Frontage Road which runs parallel to the H-201 Moanalua Freeway fronting the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, between Ala Aolani and Ala Kapuna Streets, in the westbound direction.  Bridge maintenance work is scheduled on Tuesday, February 9, through Wednesday, February 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily.

 

--- H-3 FREEWAY ---

 

1)  HALAWA BOUND

  • NIGHT WORK:  Single lane closures in the Halawa-bound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Stadium/Halawa/Pearl City Off-Ramp (Exit 1C) are scheduled on Monday night, February 8, through Friday morning, February 12, from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., nightly, for lane striping work.
  • DAY WORK:  Single lane closures in the Halawa-bound direction between the H-3 Tunnels and the Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 1B) are scheduled on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for sign repairs.

 

2)  KANEOHE BOUND
Single lane closures in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa Interchange and the Hospital Rock Tunnels on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree-trimming and signage maintenance.

 

--- FARRINGTON  HIGHWAY ---

 

1)  KOOLINA TO NANAKULI

  • Right lane closure in the westbound direction between Aliinui Drive and Nanakuli Avenue on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for retaining wall repairs.
  • Two-lane closure in the westbound direction between Laumania Avenue to Nanakuli Avenue on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for water main installations.  For additional information, email the Board of Water Supply Construction Section at contactus@hbws.org, Attn: Construction Section, or call 748-5730.

--- KAHEKILI HIGHWAY ---

 

1) KANEOHE

Right lane closure in the Honolulu-bound direction near the Haiku Road intersection on Tuesday, February 9, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for wall inspections.

 

--- KALANIANAOLE  HIGHWAY ---

 

1)  FULL NIGHTIME CLOSURE (NIGHT WORK)
Full lane closures in both directions between the Ka Iwi Scenic Lookout and the Makapuu Beach Park on Sunday night, February 7, through Friday morning, February 12, from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., nightly, for slope stabilization and retaining wall construction work.  Motorists travelling between Waimanalo and Hawaii Kai are advised to use the Pali Highway as an alternate route during nighttime construction hours. 

 

2)  NEAR OLOMANA GOLF COURSE
Single lane closures and possible traffic contraflows in both directions near the Olomana Golf Course on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.

 

--- KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY ---

 

1)  HALAWA TO AIEA
Various single lane closures on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, at the following locations:

  • Left lane closures in both directions from Pali Momi Street to Salt Lake Boulevard for median fencing installations.
  • Single lane closures in both directions at the Pali Momi Street intersection for traffic signal improvements.
  • Right lane closure in the eastbound direction from Halawa Drive to Center Drive for traffic signal improvements.

 

--- NIMITZ  HIGHWAY ---

 

1)  SAND ISLAND TO DOWNTOWN

Roving lane closures in both directions from Sand Island Access Road to Alakea Street on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for tree-trimming.

 

--- PALI  HIGHWAY ---

 

1)  NUUANU TO KAILUA

Right lane closure in the Kailua-bound direction from Nuuani Pali Drive to Kailua Road to on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for tree-trimming.

 

--- ALA MOANA BOULEVARD ---

 

1)  ATKINSON DRIVE TO PIIKOI STREET (NIGHT WORK)
Two left lanes will be closed in the westbound direction between Atkinson Drive and Piikoi Street nightly for sewer reconstruction, street lighting installations and pavement resurfacing at the following hours:

  • 10:00 p.m., Saturday night, to 10:00 a.m., Sunday morning.
  • 8:00 p.m., Sunday night, to 6:00 a.m., Monday morning.
  • 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday nights through Friday mornings.

 

2)  HOBRON LANE TO ATKINSON DRIVE
Right lane closure in the westbound direction between Hobron Lane to Atkinson Drive on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for sidewalk repairs.

 

--- FORT WEAVER ROAD ---

 

1)  OLD FORT WEAVER TO GEIGER ROAD

Left lane closures in both directions from Laulaunui Street to Geiger Road on Monday, February 8, through Friday, February 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for lane striping and landscaping work.

 

--- NORTH-SOUTH ROAD ---

 

1)  FARRINGTON HIGHWAY INTERSECTION

Right turn lane closure onto Farrington Highway in the southbound direction on Wednesday, February 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for lane striping work.
