The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists that the westbound H-1 Freeway School Street on-ramp will be closed continuously for approximately one month from 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, July 19, through 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, August 15, for repair of the retaining wall.
During this time, westbound motorists wishing to access the H-1 Freeway are advised to use alternate on-ramps such as Vineyard Boulevard.
This is part of a $2.5 million state funded project to improve drainage facilities on the H-1 Freeway westbound School Street off-ramp and to extend and add new facing to the retaining wall at the westbound on-ramp (see attached photo).
Electronic message boards will be placed at various points around the construction areas. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time.
