Additional police officers will be on-site at the Kuahelani Avenue intersection directing traffic to minimize congestion in the area.  Electronic traffic messageboards are also posted in the area to notify motorists of the closure.

At an approximate cost of $16.2 million, this rehabilitation project will include full pavement reconstructions at the H-2 Freeway Waipio Interchange, Mililani Interchange and Kipapa Stream Bridge.  The improvements also include the installation of a right-turn storage lane at the southbound Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 2) and the replacement of guardrails, traffic signs, pavement markings and lane striping.  These improvements will be made by Kiewit Pacific, Co., with an anticipated completion in December 2008.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time.  Roadwork is weather-permitting.
