Honolulu International Airport Lane Closures Scheduled Throughout May

Lane closures will begin Monday, 5/5, at the Honolulu International Airport for the construction of a vehicular and pedestrian bridge connecting the new 1,800-stall parking structure to the existing Interisland Terminal Parking Structure. Please click on the link above for more details.

HONOLULU—The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists of lane closures at the Honolulu International Airport for the construction of a vehicular and pedestrian bridge connecting the new 1,800-stall parking structure to the existing Interisland Terminal Parking Structure at the following locations and times:

 

  • Ground level access into the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure will be closed 24/7 from Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 30.  Access into the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure will be detoured through the second level makai parking entry.  Access from the ground floor parking entry into the Overseas Terminal Parking Structure will continue to be maintained at all times.

 

  • Second level mauka entry into the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure will be closed on Monday night, May 5, through Friday morning, May 9, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., nightly.  Access into the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure will be detoured to the second level makai parking entry.  Closure of this entry point will continue weekly, Monday through Friday, through Friday, May 30.

 

  • Second level roadway to the Overseas Terminal Bypass Road will be closed on Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 9, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., nightly.  Access to the Overseas Terminal will be detoured through the roadway fronting the Interisland Terminal.  Closure of this area will continue weekly, Monday through Friday, through Friday, May 30.

Motorists are also encouraged to utilize the economy parking lot located at the corner of Aolele Street and Lagoon Drive.  The completion of the new parking structure is slated for December 2008. 

 

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time.  Roadwork is weather-permitting.
