August 5, 2005- Operation Uplift

Aloha,
The more than 2,200 men and women who serve in Hawai`i’s Army National Guard and Army Reserves are making tremendous sacrifices in the war against terror.
To show your appreciation, and give them the boost of morale they need as they enter their last 6 months of their deployment, please join me in “Operation Uplift.”
Through “Operation Uplift,” you can send letters, emails, postcards, and care packages to troops you know or others you don’t know, but want to say mahalo to.
With this kind gesture you will let them know they are remembered and cared for at home. It is our way of sending Aloha to our `Ohana serving our country so bravely.
To find out how you can take part in Operation Uplift, listen for more information on this station or visit the Hawai`i National Guard Web site at www.dod.state.hi.us.
Mahalo. This is Governor Linda Lingle.
