December 30, 2005 - DUI Checkpoints - Presented by Lt. Governor Aiona
This holiday season, Governor Lingle and I wish to remind you to please drive slowly and watch for pedestrians and other drivers.
During the holidays we’re all in a hurry. And with more people on the roads, it’s even more important to be alert whether you’re a driver behind the wheel or a pedestrian crossing the street.
We also want to remind you that police statewide will be increasing DUI checkpoints during the holidays. It’s part of a year-long enforcement program called “52-12”: 52 weeks, 12 months a year.
If you drink and drive, you can be arrested and lose your license…
More importantly, you could kill or injure yourself or someone else.
Let’s make this a safe holiday season on our roads for both pedestrians and motorists. Please drive carefully and walk carefully.
