"Along with our neighbor island mayors, legislators, construction industry and union leaders, I recently announced a sweeping public infrastructure improvement plan to stimulate Hawai`i's economy.

Over the next 18 months, we will infuse our economy with 1,500 major capital improvement projects, totaling over $1.8 billion, statewide. This step is a critical part of our Administration's proactive five-point plan to stimulate the economy and create jobs.

We encourage the public to track the projects' status online at www.hawaii.gov/cip. This public transparency holds our own feet to the fire to ensure these projects are completed in a timely manner.

Collaboratively, from the state, county and federal offices, along with business, construction and labor leaders, everyone is coming together to face these economic challenges. We will continue to do our very best to make certain Hawai`i families are back on the job."
