"In today's global economy, we are increasingly aware of the value of partnerships.
I recently returned from Israel, where a gathering of world leaders focused on many of the same issues my Administration is pursuing, including transforming the economy, increasing innovation, advancing science and technology, securing energy independence, and protecting natural resources.
The efforts Hawai`i has made to address these challenges gained recognition from individuals and companies around the world. And, I am proud Hawai`i continues to be thought of as a visionary state.
Also this week, two members of my Cabinet are visiting Taiwan to strengthen our economic development and cultural partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.
These international partnerships continue to be a major focus for our state in order to succeed in the global economy."
