With the election behind us, it is now more important than ever that we come together as a nation and here at home.

I look forward to working with the leadership of the new 2009 Legislature to find meaningful solutions to balance our state's budget. We must also continue our path toward energy independence and an innovation-based economy.

These challenges present us with unique opportunities to collaborate as a state.  My Administration will work with state legislators, the counties and the private sector to implement our comprehensive, five-point economic stimulus plan as well as look at new ideas for the long-term sustainability of our economy.

All of us need to work together to employ both short- and long-term actions, which will better prepare us for an ever-changing, 21st century global economy.
