The residents of Hawai`i have an incredible opportunity on November 4th. This year's General Election ballot features the question, "Shall there be a convention to propose a revision of, or amendments to, the State Constitution?"
A constitutional convention would provide the people of Hawai`i with the opportunity to address long-standing issues facing our state, including restructuring the public education system, lowering the cost of health care, protecting agricultural lands and advancing energy security.
This opportunity will be the last chance for the people of Hawai`i to hold a Constitutional Convention for up to 10 more years.
Ultimately, it is up to the people of Hawai`i to decide if our current Constitution prepares us for the future.
I urge you to visit my web site, www.hawaii.gov/ltgov, to learn more about a Hawai`i Constitutional Convention and the great opportunity it presents for our state.
