Aloha.
This week, women leaders from across the globe gathered with nearly 1,000 Hawai`i women and men for a day of hope and inspiration at the sixth annual International Women's Leadership Conference.
The first woman to head the Liberian Police Force, the former Foreign Minister of Israel, a Navy psychologist who helped our combat troops, and important women leaders from the global economy delivered remarks that ignited the audience.
Although each speaker's background was unique, and each came from a different country, their messages reminded us that even the most difficult challenges can be overcome. The current economic conditions present challenges for most of us; but by sticking together, we will come through these times and emerge stronger than ever.
My Administration is working hard to ensure a brighter future for all the people of Hawai`i.
Mahalo. This is Governor Linda Lingle.
