Governor Lingle delivers an address on the status of Hawai`i's economy.

In her remarks, the Governor highlighted economic growth indicators, as well as the proactive approach local businesses and her Administration are taking to improve Hawai`i's economic situation and business climate.

"During an economic slowdown, businesses cannot hunker down, be stagnant and adopt a defensive mentality. This only exacerbates the situation," she said. "Rather, these are times where true business leaders adapt, show outstanding entrepreneurial skills and seek to capitalize on opportunities."

Governor Lingle also explained that investment in infrastructure not only spurs economic growth and jobs, but it also allows for increased efficiency and expansion by businesses, as well as supporting the needs of residents.
