HB1094, SB912: RELATING TO PERMANENCY HEARINGS
Conforms State law to federal law regarding the frequency of child permanent placement hearings for children in out-of-home care settings.
HB1095, SB913: RELATING TO NOTICE OF GUARDIANSHIP PROCEEDINGS
Eliminates duplicative noticing procedures to the parents of children involved in a guardianship proceeding.
HB1096, SB914: RELATING TO PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
Creates conformity in the State and federal definition of "household," as it relates to eligibility for public assistance payments under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
HB1097, SB915: RELATING TO ASSISTANCE FOR AGED, BLIND, AND PERMANENTLY AND TOTALLY DISABLED PERSONS
Clarifies that the Aged, Blind, and Disabled public assistance program is available for eligible individuals up to the amount of any legislative appropriation not to exceed the current statutory sixty-two and one-half percent of the standard of need.
HB1098, SB916: RELATING TO GENERAL ASSISTANCE
Establishes a 12 month time limit for general assistance, with exemptions for qualifying clients, to address an increased caseload. This allows more clients to receive the maximum benefits under the general assistance program during their eligibility period while maintaining the program funding threshold authorized by the Legislature.
HB1099, SB917: RELATING TO THIRD PARTY LIABILITY FOR MEDICAID
Ensures State compliance to federal law by strengthening the State's ability to identify and obtain payments from third party resources that are legally responsible to pay claims primary to Medicaid.
HB1100, SB918: RELATING TO MEDICAID LIENS
Allows Medicaid recipients to designate a representative to receive notices regarding the placement of a lien on their real property.
HB1101, SB919: RELATING TO INVESTIGATORS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
Allows the Department of Human Services to appoint and commission an investigator for the Office of Youth Services, pursuant to a memorandum of agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.
HB1102, SB920: RELATING TO RECORD CHECKS FOR THE OFFICE OF YOUTH SERVICES
Allows the Director of Human Services to conduct Child Abuse and Neglect registry checks on current and new employees of the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility.
HB1103, SB921: RELATING TO FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES AND CENTERS
Abolishes the Statewide Council on Independent Living to conform to federal law which prohibits a statewide independent living council from being a part of any state agency.
