HB1149, SB967: RELATING TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES
Updates Hawai`i’s controlled substance schedules to conform to federal law and assists pharmacists and physicians in better serving their patients by streamlining the requirements for dispensing controlled substances. Also clarifies the requirement for a pharmacy to verify the identity of the individual picking up the controlled substance.
HB1150, SB968: RELATING TO ESCAPE
Expands the offense of escape in the second degree to include persons who fail to present themselves to a correctional facility at the date and time ordered by the court for their sentence for a criminal conviction.
HB1151, SB969: RELATING TO RESTRICTED ACCESS TO CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES
Expressly grants authority for Department of Public Safety correctional staff to search persons and vehicles that enter state correctional facility grounds.
HB1152, SB970: RELATING TO COMMITTED PERSONS’ ACCOUNTS
Allows the Department of Public Safety to have one or more fiscal accounts for incarcerated persons, including accounts from which they may spend while still in prison and accounts set-aside for them when they are released.
