Governor Lingle, legislators and energy industry officials provide an update on the progress of the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, an unprecedented partnership formed one year ago between the State of Hawai`i and the U.S. Department of Energy to work toward having 70 percent of Hawai`i's energy come from clean sources by the year 2030.
Updates provided on the status of legislation to advance the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, an agreement to enhance wind power on Moloka`i and Lāna`i, and additional federal assistance the state will receive from the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
