 $1.8 Billion Capital Improvements Plan to  Bolster Economy Statewide

As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's focus on collaborative actions to stimulate the economy and create jobs, Governor Lingle, neighbor island mayors, legislators, construction industry executives and labor leaders unveiled a sweeping plan to implement $1.8 billion in public infrastructure improvement projects statewide.

Building Communities, Fulfilling Dreams

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands offered the first 111 turnkey homes to lessees in the East Kapolei I community this week. "This is not just about building houses, it's about fulfilling dreams and building communities," said Governor Lingle.

National Guard Assists Residents with Storm Relief 

To provide relief for residents affected by a recent severe storm system, Hawai`i National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been activated to assist Red Cross and State Civil Defense efforts at the Red Cross Disaster Assistance and Recovery Center.

Happy Holidays from the Governor and Lt. Governor  

As we gather to celebrate the holiday season with loved ones and friends, Governor Lingle and Lt. Governor Aiona encourage Hawai`i residents to share their appreciation for family members and neighbors, and especially the men and women of the armed forces serving overseas.
