State Moves Initiatives Forward Despite
Legislative Inaction

The state is moving forward with the Highways Modernization and Recreational Renaissance plans to invest in Hawai`i's outdoor recreational facilities and highway infrastructure even though the Legislature failed to take action on the plans this session.

Administration Aids Small Businesses

Reflecting the Lingle-Aiona Administration's commitment to helping small businesses across the state address current economic challenges, the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' (DCCA) Maui Business Action Center (BAC) has returned to regular business hours from 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

State Continues to Monitor and Investigate H1N1 Cases

State Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Adjutant General and Civil Defense Director Major General Robert Lee and Tourism Liaison Marsha Wienert updated residents on the state's ongoing efforts to identify and reduce the spread of H1N1 influenza, as well as healthy habits that should be practiced in order to protect communities.
