Medication Distributed as Part of Response Exercise 

The Department of Health this week began distributing antiviral medication to all neighbor islands and prepared hospitals for emergency distribution with a full-scale, multi-agency emergency response exercise. "Public health emergencies rarely wait for a convenient time, and we see this as an opportunity to test ourselves in challenging circumstances," said Dr. Chiyome Fukino.

State Opens Affordable Rentals for Veterans

A dedication ceremony was held this week for 80 newly renovated apartments specifically for U.S. military veterans. Hale Uhiwai Nalu at Kalaeloa is the result of a public-private collaboration between the State of Hawai`i's Hawai`i Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, First Hawaiian Bank and Cloudbreak Hawai`i, LLC.
