07/17/2008 - Governor Releases More Than $30 Million for Infrastructure Upgrades
As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's efforts to invest in critical infrastructure improvements, Governor Lingle released $16,364,400 to finance improvement projects at correctional facilities statewide and $15,021,000 for improvements to the Ma`alaea Small Boat Harbor and Hana Boat Ramp on Maui.

Governor Lingle joined the Hawai`i Masons and Plasterers union in honoring the winners of the 18th Annual Hawai`i State & 11th Invitational Apprenticeship Contest for Bricklayers, Masons, Cement Finishers, Plasterers and Tile Setters.
07/17/2008 - Maui Project Highlights Clean Energy Initiative
Governor Lingle praised a partnership this week between HR BioPetroleum, Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., Hawaiian Electric Company and Maui Electric Company to pursue the joint development of a microalgae facility on Maui to produce lipid oil for conversion to biodiesel and other valuable projects.

The Honolulu Boy Choir thanked Governor Lingle and her Administration for their support and for taking the necessary steps to revitalize the program when it was in danger of dissolution due to financial difficulties two years ago.

07/10/2008 - 2008 Legislative Session: Final Actions
Governor Lingle delivered her final veto messages on Tuesday, wrapping up the Lingle-Aiona Administration's open and comprehensive review of 294 bills passed by the Legislature during the 2008 legislative session. This year, Governor Lingle signed more than 240 bills into law.

Reinforcing the Lingle-Aiona Administration's commitment to preserve and enhance Hawai`i's natural and cultural resources for future generations, Governor Lingle signed three bills to strengthen the State's enforcement of laws that protect our land, unique resources and environment.

Governor Lingle celebrated the launch of the nation's first Center for Okinawan Studies, which opened this week as part of the University of Hawai`i's School of Pacific and Asian Studies.

Recognizing the Lingle-Aiona Administration's success in leading the state toward a more secure energy future, Hawai`i has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the National Governors Association (NGA) Center for Best Practices to support the State's clean energy initiative.
07/02/2008 - Robots Rock, Roll in Capitol Rotunda
Wednesday morning the Hawai`i State Capitol was an epicenter of enthusiasm as nearly 30 robotics teams from across the state rocked into action at the Robotics Organizing Committee's (ROC) exhibition.
