INNOVATION - HAWAI`I'S LINK TO THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

March 16 - "Hawai`i's prosperity and quality of life depend on reducing an over-reliance on land development and increasing people's capacity to innovate," Governor Lingle said during a luncheon with members of the Lambda Alpha International - Aloha Chapter.  The Governor delivered keynote remarks and outlined the Hawai`i Innovation Initiative, a proposal designed to create a firm economic foundation for Hawai`i in the new global economy. "Innovation has a tremendous economic impact on our state," Governor Lingle said.  "It improves existing industries and creates new ones, sustains and diversifies the economy and leads to a more skilled workforce with higher-paying jobs."

The Hawai`i Innovation Initiative focuses on Innovation in Education, Innovation in the Economy, Innovation in the Workplace, Innovation in Linking Hawai`i to the Global Economy, and Innovation in State Government. Read more about this initiative here
