Joined by U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy and members of the Hawai`i Commemorative Quarter Advisory Commission, Governor Lingle launched the Hawai`i commemorative quarter into circulation.
Bolstering Tourism in Key Asian Markets
Moving forward on her Administration's five-point plan to strengthen our economy, of which increased tourism marketing and outreach is a major highlight, Governor Lingle met with industry and business leaders from key Asian markets to encourage travel to Hawai`i.
Energy Independence Gains Global Momentum
The need to transition from oil to clean, renewable energy sources was a predominant theme throughout the Governor's official state visits to Taiwan and China this week. Governor Lingle had numerous discussions with leaders about Hawai`i's bold pursuit of a clean energy economy.
Partnerships Provide Foundation for Growth
While in China and Taiwan this week, Governor Lingle focused on forging new global partnerships in the areas of education and clean energy, supporting the Lingle-Aiona Administration's long-term economic transformation toward innovation and energy independence.
